Obituary AGAWAM: Christine Smith, age 55, of Agawam, died Wednesday January 15, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. Christine was born in Holyoke, daughter of Hannibal T. Smith, Jr. and the late Carolyn P. (Allen) Choiniere. She was a graduate of Chicopee Comp High School and went on to receive her Associate’s Degree. Christine worked in Aerospace Tool Design for Pratt and Whitney. She enjoyed the beach and boats and cared for animals as a hospice foster mom. Christine was predeceased by her wife, Elaine Patrick in 2010. She is survived by her father, Hannibal T. Smith, Jr.; a step-daughter, Karen Bacopoulos (Harry) of Westfield; two brothers: Alan Smith of Weymouth, MA and Thomas Smith of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters: Patricia Smith of Greenfield, and Kimberly Hiersche of Chicopee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends: three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren;. Calling hours will be held on Sunday January 19 from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Christine to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
