Virgil Garry Nichols, age 69, passed away on December 1, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 14, 1950 to Margie Mae Shore and Virgil Houtz Nichols Jr. He graduated from Skyline High School. He served 6 years as a Medic in the Army National Guard, and was Honorably Discharged. He was married in the Salt Lake Temple, later divorced. He had 4 Sons and 9 Grandchildren. Garry retired from the United States Post Office after 44 years of employment. During his life, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing baseball and football (Turkey bowl) and watching all sports on TV especially the Colts. He enjoyed talking with people, making people laugh, and trips to Wendover for the free meals of course. 🙂 Survived by his Sons: Jared (Lindsey) Nichols, Ryan Nichols, Dustin (Luisa) Nichols, and Chett Nichols, his Grandchildren: Jet Nichols, Isabelle Nichols, Jayden Nichols, Nash Nichols, Liam Nichols, Wyatt Nichols, London Nichols, Adaline Nichols, and Greyson Nichols, his Mother: Margie Nichols, his Siblings: Pat (Jan) Oswald, Mark Nichols (Maja Hardman), Gay Lynn (Steve) Marion, Brad (Jennifer) Nichols, Doug Nichols, Laura Bartlett (Brett Miller) He was preceded in death by his Father, Virgil Houtz Nichols Jr. Celebration of Life: Saturday, December 21st, 11am-12pm Family Luncheon: Saturday, December 21st, 12pm – 2pm Location: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 2220 East Fisher Lane Salt Lake City, Utah 84109 To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Virgil Garry Nichols please visit our Sympathy Store.
