Robert E. Fater, age 74, of Brownstown Twp., Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Born on May 7, 1945 in Wyandotte, Michigan, he was the son of Gerald and Elva (Spencer) Fater. On August 29, 1969 he married Cathy Smith in Flat Rock, MI. He was the owner of Adolph’s Towing, Inc in Flat Rock from 1985-2019. Bob was a member of Flat Rock Elks Lodge 1731 BPOE. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gerald E. Fater, II, sisters Arlene Mills and Irene Rochelle. He is survived by his wife Cathy Fater; siblings Clarence (Bonnie) Fater, Roberta (Thomas) Holbrook, Peggy (Byron) Claussen, Greg (Maureen) Fater, Gerald Allen (Catherine) Fater, Mark Fater, Roger (Karen) Fater, Rodney (Vicky) Fater, Douglas (Beth) Fater. Friends may visit at the Flat Rock Elks Lodge 1731 on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Memorial services will be held at Flat Rock Elks Lodge 1731 on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Special Projects at the Elks Lodge in his name.
