Harold Ardell Correll
November 9, 1943 - December 16, 2019

With a voice like a bull horn, Harold Ardell Correll could quiet a room full of people with one, “Quiet “!!! He could call cadence or lead a church song service, and everyone could hear him.But he also could tell when someone needed a smile and soft word of encouragement.
Harold was born in LaHarpe, IL during WWII to Robert L Correll and Lila Lee (Scott) Correll on November 9, 1943.His father was in the U. S. Army and was transferred to an Army base in Alaska. Harold and his mother joined him for the first two years of Harold’s life.
After his father’s discharge the family resided in Illinois for another eight years before moving to North Liberty, IN.He was introduced to Jesus as a child at the United Pentecostal Church in North Liberty. He was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost early in life and continued his commitment to a life dedicated to God until his death, December 16, 2019.He… expressed so many times that through Jesus he was a winner. If Jesus wished to heal him here and he spent more years with his family, or if Jesus took him to his heavenly home ……. either way, he said he won!
Proceeding Harold to his heavenly home was his father and mother, his brother, R LaVerne Correll, and his sister, Judy Rae (Correll) Cecrle.
His brother R Vance Correll lives in Walkerton, IN and Johnnie Dewitt and wife Marinda Correll, reside in Anderson, IN.Harold also has two nieces and three nephews who reside in Indiana.
After moving to Georgia 32 years ago with his wife Rebecca Bush Correll, daughters, Rebecca (Correll) Waters (Charles )and Carmen C (Correll) Puckett he has been blessed with two granddaughters, Laura Beth (Puckett) Rodriguez (Alejandro Rodriguez) and Victoria E Puckett, one grandson, Charles Jacob Waters and one great grandson, Alexzander Rodriguez. He is grandpa to many others by proxy.
Harold is a long-time member of the Atlanta West Pentecostal Church, Lithia Springs, GA. He loves this place of worship and Pastor Darrell Johns, his many friend’s, past and present, that have been such a support to him and his family.
Harold chose the U. S. Navy as his first military commitment to his country.Later he enlisted in the Army Indiana National Guard and served for many years as the AST (Admin Staff Technician) managing the National Guard Armory for Company C, in Portland, IN.He excelled as a manager and recruiter for the Army National Guard.
Harold was one of the first ATM Technicians hired at National Cash Register (NCR) as ATM’s became popular and installed for the area.As ATM’s caught on, banks required special key security for their sites which created a need for a Key Manager.Harold moved into that position and remained the Regional Key Manager until his retirement in 2010.
No matter what company and or position Harold held he always seemed to end up in a management position. He loved his family, working in God’s Kingdom, farming, the military, and collecting John Deere memorabilia even as far as to naming his lab/pit mix dog “John Deere”.
Lewy Bodies Dementia was a foreign diagnosis to Harold. He had plowed through breast cancer, surgery, chemo and radiation, a heart effusion and surgery, and many other illnesses that he was always able to bounce back. But Lewy Bodies Dementia and metastasized breast cancer are conditions that consumed him and progressively weakened his ability to survive but left this world with the assurance he was going to his heavenly home where there was no Lewy Bodies or cancer.
Harold was a big man with a soft heart and never seemed to meet a stranger.
