Obituary Mrs. Phyllis Ann Bryant Gray age 70, left this life on November 27th, 2019 at 4:23 pm. She was surrounded by her three children, family, and a Dear Friend. She departed this world with as much love as we could send her with. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Ruth Geneva Moffatt and Richard Allen Bryant. Phyllis has three brothers, the late Robert Bryant, Larry Bryant and Stanley Bryant. She loved the three of you with all of her heart. Phyllis met her Husband to be, Thomas Gray Jr. During her senior year and married on February 1, 1968. They moved to Michigan soon after. After moving to Michigan, Tom and Phyllis started their family welcoming Larry Thomas in 1969, Richard Allen in 1971, and Crystal Renee in 1980. Phyllis enjoyed working as a punch press operator. She ended her career at Means Industries in 1993. Tom and Phyllis moved to Tennessee in 1993 due to his Job transfer from GM to Saturn. Phyllis was known for being a very “Speak her Mind” kind of Gal! What you saw, is what you got! She never pretended to be something she wasn’t. There was no filter, she told you what she thought! That’s why so many people loved her! Phyllis had a beautiful smile, but sometimes she didn’t have to smile to show it, you could see it in her eyes. She loved to Dance, loved Old Country Music, Bluegrass, Bingo, talking to both her sons daily as well as Julie on the phone, and weekend trips to the Casino with her Husband and Dear Friend Diana. She looked forward to daily visits from myself and her grandkids after our Dad passed away. Phyllis loved her kids and was very proud of the three of them. She always said there is something special about being a Nanny. She was so very proud of her 10 Grandchildren. Alexis, Garrett, Blake, Craig, Olivia, Camille, Victoria, Ava, Aidan, and Will. Those that left this life before her are her Father Richard Allen Bryant, her Mother Ruth Geneva Moffatt, her Brother Robert Lloyd Bryant, and lastly the Love of her Life Thomas G. Gray Jr. We believe that our Mom would say her Greatest Challenge in Life was Raising the Three of Us, but we Believe it also brought her the Greatest Reward. Our Moms love, no matter how she gave it, molded and shaped us into the people we are today. She reaped her reward through her grandchildren, and we don’t think that she could’ve been any more proud. Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
