Phi Van Vu, 81, of Spartanburg, SC died Thursday, December 19, 2019, while doing volunteer work. Born April 10, 1938 in Quang Ngai, Vietnam, he was the son of the late Nhon Du and Thi Doi Bui. Mr. Vu was retired from Spartan Mills. While in South Vietnam, he was a Military Intelligence Officer. He loved to work outside and was passionate about gardening. Survivors include a loving wife; the children, Thuy Du, Phu Du, Lam Du, Bich Du, Thi Bich Van Du, Tam Du, Thi Bich Chi Du, Viet Cao, Van Vu and Vu Phi Tran; grandchildren, Ngoc Thanh Du, Ngoc Thann Du, Kelly Nguyen Du, Ben Nguyen Du, Hung Du, Sabrina Du, Ngoc Du Sang Dang, Ngoc Du Ngan Dang, Du Hao Nguyen, Du Thuy Tien Nguyen, Du Ngoc Tinh, Du Thi Hoai Thu, Valerie Vu and Ella Cao. Visitation will be at 1:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2019 at the chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
