Percy Gabriel Credeur October 04, 1934 – December 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook CANKTON ~ Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Berchman Catholic Church for Percy Gabriel Credeur, age 85, who passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Interment will be in St. John Berchmans Cemetery in Cankton. The Rev. Kenneth Domingue, pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Credeur was a native of Coulee Croche and a resident of Cankton having been a parishioner of St. John Berchman Catholic Church. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for HNS, Barber Bros and Coastal having assisted in building many roads around the Lafayette/Carencro area all the way up to Alexandria. He was involved in the construction of Evangeline Throughway and parts of I-49, including several bridges. A veteran of the military, Mr. Credeur served his country in the United States Army and was a bus driver at Fort Bliss and Red Canyon. Mr. Credeur was a pallbearer for many family members. Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Credeur of Cankton; and his former wife and the mother of his daughter, Betty Lalonde of Sunset. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Credeur and the former Louise Marie Mouton; three brothers, George Credeur, Sr. and his wife, Mardry, Wesley Credeur and his wife, Laura Belle Prejean, and Essie Credeur and his wife, Norma Ellis; and two sisters, Blanche Stento and her husband, Tom, and Ruby Thibodeaux and her husband, Felecian. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at St. John Berchman Catholic Church by Deacon Byrne Winn. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. John Berchman Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until service on Thursday at St. John Berchman Catholic Church. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Heart of Hospice, especially his nurse, Nicole Deaville who went above and beyond.
