Nellie’s Obituary Nellie Jean Jaggers, age 72, Ypsilanti resident for 20+ years, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at her daughter’s home. She was born September 9, 1947 in Rural, Kentucky, daughter of Collier & Lucy “Edith” (Bowen) Taylor. She was a child of God, and put Him first. She attended Church of God, Belleville, MI, pastored by Ron Schubert. Nellie retired from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, after 16 years as an Environmental Specialist. She enjoyed playing Bingo and gambling. Nellie is survived by 3 children and 4 step-children, who she loved as her own: Edith Jaggers and Chet Jaggers, Jr., Wendy Fincher, all of Ypsilanti, MI, Jennifer Hambric of Eatonton, Georgia, Tarra Hudson of Lincoln Park, MI, DeAnna (Terry) Mullins of Riverview, MI and Lisa (Carl) Peterson of Ocala, Florida; her beloved Pug-Buddy, 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 nephews, several great-nieces and nephews, her devoted caregivers: granddaughter Amanda Turner, sister-in-law Linda Browder, best friend Barb Kabeth and Kate from Arbor Hospice, also brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marion and Louise Fincher. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester Jaggers, Sr., also two brothers Jay and Carlo Taylor. Visitation will be 11 AM until 5 PM Saturday, December 28, 2019 at David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville, MI 48111 (734)697-4500. Celebration of Life service will be at 5:00 PM officiated by Pastor Curtis Reed. Cremation rites will follow.
