FULLERTON—Mary Lou Mason, 82, of Fullerton, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Boone County Medical Center in Albion. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Fullerton Community Church in Fullerton with Reverend Vern Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Fullerton Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 3rd at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mary Lou was born June 15, 1937 to Gifford Thomas and Anna Wilhelmina (Roessler) Wilson in Berwyn, NE. In the early 1950s, she moved to Fullerton with her family and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1955. After graduation, she moved to Waterloo and worked in Omaha at WOWT television network, Western Electric, and Robinson Seed Company in Waterloo. While there, she met and married Warren West and to this union, Kelly was born. On October 8, 1966, she married Garry Mason and moved to Fullerton where they resided until her passing. While in Fullerton, she worked at the selective service office, Fullerton nursing home, Gary Hall Insurance, and then she worked at DHHS in Fullerton before transferring to the Albion office where she retired. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and later, Fullerton Community Church. She participated in the church choir, bible studies, and was a Sunday school teacher. She also held many office positions within the church. She was also involved with ALA-NON, Fullerton Library Book Club, Red Hat Society, and a former member of Eagles Auxiliary. She loved stamping, fishing, reading, and her pets. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was always willing to help anyone she could and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Garry of Fullerton; daughter, Kelly (Dennis) Zarek of Fullerton; grandchildren, Sarah Zarek of Norfolk, Benjamin (Nichole) Zarek of Columbus, Jonathan (Debra) Zarek of Genoa, and Kevin (Lora Lighter) Zarek of Columbus; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Colleen (Floyd) Geiser; brothers-in-law, Larry and Bobby Mason; and sister-in-law, Donna Weller.
