Obituary Mr. Lee Roy Duncan, age 83, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Monday, December 23, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. The son of the late Mike and Victoria Woody Duncan, he was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on November 15, 1936. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Buchanan; and two brothers, Bill Woody and Jennings Duncan. Having honorably served in the United States Army, Lee was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Marion. Mr. Duncan is survived by his loving wife, Sue Hollifield Duncan; two sons, Michael Duncan and Chris Duncan and his wife, Andreia; one brother, Wayne Duncan; two grandsons, Christopher Tyler Duncan and Noah Andrew Duncan; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Lee’s life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Walker officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
