Kathleen “Katie”‘s Obituary Georgetown – Elzola Kathleen “Katie” Gustafson, 93, of Georgetown, passed away at 8:13 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Katie was born on July 22, 1926 in Pope County, IL the daughter of Curtis and Myra Gertrude Miller Newton. She married Charles Edward Blacketer in January of 1945. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1968. She later married Archie William Gustafson Jr. on December 19, 1970. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2018. She is survived by: 2 sons, Stanley (Sue) Blacketer of rural Williamsport, IN and Barney (Deb) Blacketer of Oakwood; 1 daughter, Darla Balazhi of Georgetown; 1 sister Louise Keith of Florida; 2 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ohlrich of Danville and Betty Slayton of Danville; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Lowell Newton, William Newton, and Curtis Eugene Newton, and 1 great grandson, Carlas Anderson. The family would like to thank Colonial Manor Nursing Home for their great care. Katie attended the Rock Church and Life Church in her later years. She enjoyed dancing, camping, and fishing. As per her wishes, Katie will be cremated and there will be no services held. Memorials may be made to the local American Legion. Robison Chapel in Catlin is handling arrangements.
