Jesse’s Obituary Jesse LeRoy Bailey, 87, of Morrison, Illinois, died Friday, November 29, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 5th at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Sharon Cemetery, Erie. Memorials may be made to Pink Heals Sauk Valley Chapter or the Wounded Warriors Project. Jesse was born on November 24, 1932, in Fulton, Illinois, the son of James and Alma (Imel) Bailey. He married Diana Mae Ballard at the Erie Baptist Church on March 25, 1967. Jesse retired from the Glen Myers Construction Company after many years in construction. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, and playing cards and games. He loved watching sports and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. Jesse cherished time with his family and was so very proud of all of them. Jesse is survived by his wife, Diana Bailey, Morrison; children, Denise Bailey (David Chaplin), Katy, TX, Craig (Christine) Bailey, Des Moines, IA, Dody (Rick) Ogburn, Morrison, Vicky Heady, Morrison, Mark (Deborah) Gibson, Clinton, IA, Shawn (Tina) Bailey, Geneseo, Missy (Kenny) Meinsma, Morrison; sister, Chris (Lawrence) Schluter, Armstrong, IL; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
