James “Slick” Simmons, 47, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Independence. He was born on November 30, 1972 in Chillicothe; a son of William Dean and Grace (Montgomery) Simmons. Slick loved to tinker and would tear things apart just to put them back together. He loved to drive and for many years drove cattle and grain trucks to earn a living. What he really loved was riding motorcycles and the freedom he felt on the road. He is survived by his mother: Grace Goring; son: William Seth Simmons; brother: Billy Jack Simmons; and a host of friends. Slick is preceded in death by his father: William Dean Simmons; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Family of James Simmons.
