James “Jimmy” F. McBride, age 83, of Harrison, passed away on December 29, 2019. He was born on March 26, 1936 in Cincinnati Ohio to Merrill T. and Anna (nee Jones) McBride. He served in the US Air Force and also in the Navy Reserves. He married Margaret Werzbacher and they were blessed with 6 children: James F., Victoria, Lori, Jacqueline, Jennifer and Stanley. Jim worked at Procter & Gamble in the Research and Development department. Jim was a family man and enjoyed coaching his children’s softball and baseball teams when they were young. He enjoyed traditional camping and being outdoors. Jim ran many mini heart marathons and enjoyed volunteering at Christ Hospital in his free time. He was also an umpire for baseball and softball for many years. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (nee Wurzbacher) McBride, parents: Merrill & Anna McBride; and sister: Barbara Corns. Those left to cherish Jim’s memory are his children: Jim F. (Jill) McBride, Vicki (Rob) Power, Lori (Greg) Kist, Jackie (Steve) Means, Jennifer (Brian) Schultz, Stan (Christy) McBride; cherished grandchildren: Jonah & James McBride, Nathan (Christina) Batchler, Rebecca (Casimir) VonSacken, Andrew Batchler, Danielle & Quintin Power, Ellen (Joel) Jones, Thomas (Emma) Kist, Anthony Kist, Qi Means, Addison & Keegan Schultz, Aiden, Austin & Ava McBride; great grandchildren: Cooper & Bella Batchler, Chase & Grayson VonSacken, and Daniel & Kennedy Kist. Also survived by niece Kelly (Patrick) Wheatley and many golfing friends. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 4 to 6 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street Harrison, OH 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 10 am on Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, OH 45030. Father Jeffrey Kemper presiding. Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery with military honors provided by Harrison Honor Guard and the Us Air Force. The family request in lieu of flowers memorials to LOVS (Women’s veteran organization that gives back to veteran families) This donation may be made at the visitation or funeral through the funeral director.
