Obituary George John Nieman, 76, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 28, 1943 in Detroit, MI, the son of George and Hazel Nieman. George served faithfully in the United States Navy aboard the USS Antietam for 6 years. He worked for Union Camp/International Paper for 35+ years until his retirement. He was also a member of the Outriders Kalamazoo Chapter. George loved the sun and the water. He enjoyed soaking up the sun rays and swimming whether it was a day spent at a lake, on the boat, or eventually the backyard pool, it was a good day. He loved his family and was a lifelong lions fan until recently when he gave up all hope. George also enjoyed keeping his things in good condition. He kept a home and car clean enough to pass any inspection. Surviving are his Wife of 41 years , Elena Nieman, Daughters, Melony (Ryan) Kurzava and Elena Nieman, six Grandchildren, Sister, Ellen Eagly, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving family. George was preceded in death by his parents, Son, Aaron Nieman, and a Sister, Patricia Blair. A private family gathering will take place. To sign the online guest book, go to www.adamspawpaw.com.
