George H. “GH” Hofmann, age 83, of Lawrenceburg, passed away on December 28, 2019. He was born on September 28, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Clifford George and Estelle (nee Bateman) Hofmann. GH was a Norwood High School class of 1954 graduate. He joined the US Marine Corp and served honorably from 1954 to 1962. GH married Mary Sue Adamson and they were blessed with a son Bret. GH ran a successful sporting goods company, “All Pro Sporting Goods” in Ventura, California. GH was proudly inducted into the Ventura College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008 as acknowledgement for his support and fundraising activities for the athletic program. In his retirement he enjoyed socializing with family and friends, traveling, fishing, and working on his golf game. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law: Bret Hofmann and Ellen Chilton-Hofmann; beloved grandchildren: Bryan and Kathryn Hofmann; and dear friend Sharon Fox. GH was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Sue “Susie” Hofmann; parents: Clifford George and Estelle (nee Bateman) Hofmann; grandson: James Robert Hofmann; siblings: Wendel and Larry Hofmann. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 1pm to 4pm at the home of Sharon Fox, 5689 Oak Vista Dr. Cincinnati, Ohio 45227. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in George Hofmann’s name to the Cincinnati VA Fisher House, 3200 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH 45220.   2. Mr. Hoffman was a very kind and loving individual. became very fond of him while checking in and out for his appointments @ the VA. I will miss him, but I realize he is @ Peace now and that gives me Peace.
