Fred D. Weagley, 80, of Claypool, Ind. (Beaver Dam Lake) and formerly of Marion, Ind. passed at 8:40 pm, Monday, December 16, 2019 at his residence He was born on April 11, 1939 in Marion, Indiana to Richard and Velma (Martin) Weagley. He married on April 17, 1981 in Celina, Ohio to Darlene Bertie Pence, who preceded him in death on July 1, 2018. Fred had owned a couple full service Shell Stations in the Marion until 1980. He then was elected Mayor of Marion for one term ending in 1983. He then was an instructor for CDL license and traveled the state for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles retiring after 31 years. He was a graduate of Marion High School in 1957. He served his country in the National Guard from 1957 to 1964. He had been a member of the NRA, the Warsaw American Legion Post 49, and the Beaver Dam Lake Conservation Club. He served as the president of the Marion Jaycee’s in years past. He was known as a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and was an avid supporter of the Trump Campaign. Survivors and place of residence: Daughters – April and husband Toby Ailes – Fairmount, Ind. Step Son – Brad Haskell – Marion, Ind. 16 Grandchildren 18 Great Grandchildren and 2 on the way 1 Great Great Grandchild on the way as well Brothers and Sister – Richard and wife Marilyn Weagley, Christina Corey, Jim and wife Margie Weagley, Daniel and wife Cindy Weagley Daughter-in-law – Sue Haskell Preceded in Death By: Parents – Richard and Velma Weagley Wife – Darlene Bertie Weagley Step Son – Mike Haskell Following Fred’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
