Eugene’s Obituary Gene M. Giffin, 91, of Monett, MO, passed from this life on December 7, 2019. Gene was born on February 2, 1928 in Blue Mound, KS, son of the late Clyde Samuel Giffin and Marjorie Mary (McClure) Giffin. Gene attended schools in Kansas and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country honorably until his discharge. For most of his working years, Gene worked for Xidex as a Micro Film Engineer. For enjoyment, Gene spent countless hours rebuilding various clocks. He could fix just about anything. He also loved his dogs, Dulcie and Levi. On January 17, 1961 in Joliet, IL, Gene married Peggy Annette Capper. To this union, they were blessed with two children. Gene is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; one son, Dan Giffin, of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Terri Goyhenetche and husband Benny, of Santa Clara, CA; one brother, Ralph Giffin, of Colorado; one sister, Barbara Vance, of Canada; four grandchildren, Jenna and Tyler Goyhenetche and Ryan and Collin Giffin; one great-grandson, Brenton Stanley Goyhenetche; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Gene was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Donald and Lyman Giffin; and one sister, Becky Williford. Per Gene’s wishes, no formal services are planned at this time.
