Edward’s Obituary Edward Bryce Ward, 66, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Abbotts Creek. A celebration of life will be held at 11am Thursday, January 2, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Lexington with Dr. Ray Howell, III and Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating the service. A private inurnment will be held prior to the service. Edward was born on June 23, 1953 in Davidson County to Raymond Vestal Ward, Jr. and Landa Perry Ward Varner. Ed graduated from UNC School of Business in 1975 and had many accomplishments in his life. Since the age of 14, Ed worked at Hedgecock Builders alongside his father and grandfather where he served as secretary and sales manager. He was also a long time Rams Club member. He served on the planning and zoning board and was a former Lexington city councilman. Ed was one of the original members of Habitat for Humanity and also helped provide housing for residents in the community. Ed was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington where he served as Deacon Moderator. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kathy Dawn Ingle Ward, of the home; sons, Andrew Ward (Katie) and Zack Ward, all of Lexington; half-brother, Raymond Ward of Lexington, step-brother, Steve Hill, of Wilmington; step-sister, Kathy Strader (Kyle) of Raleigh; and 3 grandchildren, Annie Ward, Edward Madden Ward and Daisy Ward and granddog, Lola.
