Graveside services for Edith Hewitt Shivers, 89, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Turner Cemetery, Emory, with her grandson Dave Bellomy, officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline. Mrs. Shivers passed away December 6, 2019, at her home in Grand Saline. She was born September 23, 1930 in Grand Saline to Lafayette Donnie & Nannie Belle Conley Hewitt. Edith married her husband, Bud Shivers, January 4, 1947. She lived in Houston for 50 years, where she was a member of Fairbanks Baptist Church, before moving to Grand Saline about 15 years ago. Edith is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Esthel E. “Bud” Shivers, infant daughter, Shirley Marie Shivers; and four brothers, William Hewitt, L.D. Hewitt, Leonard Hewitt and Billy Earl Hewitt. Survivors include her three daughters, Brenda & Glynn Hudson of Mineola, Nancy Mehnert of Houston and Kathleen & David Bellomy Sr. of Cleveland; sister, Mildred English of Weatherford; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be David Bellomy Sr., Glynn Hudson, Dave Bellomy, Dwayne Bellomy, Rob Mehnert, Nate Kaliszewski and Fidel Lopez.
