She walked to Christ Lutheran School in Loebau from the family home and would return after classes to work on her family’s land. Dorothy married W.L. Lehmann on October 12, 1947. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her garden and growing many beautiful roses. Many memories were made listening to the Brenham radio station as Polka music could always be heard playing from the house. Sundays she could be found in the car with her husband seeing the countryside. Dorothy also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing “42”.
