Debora E. (Ward) Grosky, 62, of New Britain CT passed away peacefully with her loving husband Kevin and sister Patricia by her side, Thursday, December 26, 2019 at The Hospital of Central CT @ New Britain General after a seven year battle with cancer. Debora was born in New Britain, CT and was the daughter of the late Everett and Madeline (Mieczkowski) Ward Debora leaves behind the love of her life Kevin W. Grosky who never left her side, and her loving stepson Andrew J. Grosky both of New Britain CT, her daughter Sarah J. Smith of Plainville, CT, her son Gabriel Smith, her sister Patricia (Ward) Kovarcik of New Britain, CT, her brother William Ward of Plymouth, CT, her sister Donna (Ward) Naples and her husband Bill of New Britain, CT, her loving nieces Laurie and her husband Joe Rubino, Kristie Kovarcik and Jason Cheverier all of Higganum, CT and Amy Ward of Plymouth, CT, her nephew Joseph Ward. She also leaves behind what she called her love bugs her grandchildren, Andrew, Liam, Lilyana and Lukas. Last but certainly not least her three great nieces who she adored Mia, Sydney, Lea, Kelsie, her goddaughter Angelina, her great nephews Robert, Jonathan, Christian and Kennedy. Plus a large group of young people she took care of as a daycare/nanny whom she loved as if they were her own. Brandon, Katherine, Nicole, and the list is endless she loved you all. Finally, her best friend her whole life Janet Sgroi Ziegler of Plainville, CT who never left her side through sixty years and was right by her side till the end. Debora was predeceased by her brother Robert Ward, her nephew Michael Kovarcik and her brother-in-law Mike (The Chief) Kovarcik, Deb’s favorite thing in life was spending time with her entire family down at the beach in Westbrook. Especially her grandchildren, her nieces and great niece’s. Deb’s love for them was immeasurable and she will be missed by all. A Celebration of Deb’s life will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A.
