On Friday, December 27, 2019, Boyd Lee Stover, 81, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma with his burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka, Oklahoma. Pastor Buddy Lairson will preside over the services. Strode Funeral Home & Cremation is in charge of arrangements. Boyd was born on February. 27, 1928 to Newton A. & Frances M (Kitchel) Stover in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He married Stella Mae Fisher on June 11, 1982 in Stillwater. He attended school in the Eureka and Morrison areas, graduating from Morrison High School, where he participated in basketball, track, and FFA. He completed 3 years of college at Oklahoma State University. Boyd worked in Tulsa for Warehouse Markets as a truck driver for 12 years. He then worked for Ditch Witch in Perry for 15 years. Boyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his golf cart, and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Stella; sons, Robert Stover and wife Lisa, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Douglas Stover and wife, Judy, and Thomas Stover and wife Ruth, all of Stillwater; stepsons, Robby J. Hill and wife Carol, of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Michael Hill and wife Linda, of Smith, Alabama; stepdaughters, Cynthia Townsend, of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Denise Larson and husband Lee, of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Donna Zapp and husband Doug, of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren Leah, Jennifer, Jason, Anna, Amanda, Denika, Kristen, Christie, Tammy, Rick, Josh, Zach, Michelle, Brian, and Sean; and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother ,Gerald Stover and sister, Carol Brunnemer both of Stillwater; and sister-in-law, Willa Dean of Perry, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews. Boyd was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Timothy Stover; one stepson, Paul Scott; and one brother, Bill Stover.
