Velma – Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Ann (Strickland) Tadlock, 76 of Velma are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Velma. Interment will follow to New Velma Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel in Velma. Barbara was born May 14, 1943 in Bakersfield, CA to the late Mr. Guy Strickland and Mrs. Eva Mae (Couey) Strickland. She departed from this life on Friday, November 29, 2019 in Duncan, OK. Barbara was raised primarily in Velma marrying Mr. James Hall on June 11, 1960. To this union, they were blessed with two sons, Pete and Bret. James tragically passed away on March 7, 1964 from a truck wreck. There after, Barbara married Mr. Don R. Tadlock and to this union, came another four boys, Travis, Tim, Monte and Blair. Don preceded her on October 14, 2003. She was a devoted homemaker, taking care of her children and grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed being outdoors gardening and was awarded a 25 year fan award for following athletics whether she had kids playing or not. Barbara made sure she put everyone first before herself, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Countryside Freewill Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, James Hall and Don Tadlock; sister, Joyce Bright; brother, Don Strickland; and step son, Jim Tadlock. Barbara is survived by her sons, Pete Hall and wife Tinia of Velma, Bret Hall and wife Leisa of Velma, Travis Tadlock and wife Stacy of Greely, CO, Tim Tadlock and wife Stacy of Kalispell, MT, Monte Tadlock and wife Elena of Velma and Blair Tadlock and wife Ginger of Velma; step sons, Don Tadlock and wife Cindy of Elmore City, Steve Tadlock and wife Diana of Pauls Valley; foster son, James Rhodes and wife Laura of Duncan; sisters, Shirley Breen and husband Jim of Spokana Valley,. WA and Pat Jenkins and husband Jay of Lone Grove; brothers, Jerry Strickland and wife Sue of Velma and Bill Strickland and wife Jane of Velma; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Erin Johnson, Chance Hall, Cody Hall, Jeana Hall, Caleb Tadlock and Brad Hall. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A family visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson. Online condolences may be made at www.alexanderfuneralhome.org.
