Thelma Savas Adams, 92, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Parr’s at Springhurst. She was born May 7, 1927 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of Jack Savas and Natalie Georgiades Savas. Thelma met and married the love of her life, Sam Adams, on April 20, 1947. They lived in Detroit, MI until Sam was transferred to Louisville in 1972. She didn’t seem to mind the transition, as she was keeping busy meeting new friends. When she and Sam retired, they would visit Michigan, but spend their winters in Key West. She was always ready for a party. Thelma was an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing her recipes as she entertained family and friends. She loved to dance and would be on the floor every opportunity she had. Thelma also enjoyed being on the water in the houseboat taking trips and relaxing with friends. She was a talented artist and had many of her paintings displayed all around her home for all to enjoy. She was a member of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church where she worked many of the Greek Festivals put on by the church and was very proud of her heritage. She was a member of the Key to the City, Daughters of Penelope and Red Hats Society. She is recently preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Adams, of 72 years; her brother, John Savas and his wife Sophia; and a brother-in-law, Alex Alexander. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Sandra “Sandy” (Ken); son, Stephen (Donna); grandchildren, Kris (Doug), Kenny (Carla), and Geoff (Tina); and great-grandchildren, Samantha “Sam”, Makenzie “Mack”, and Riley. Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 930 Orsmby Lane with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
