Lorraine Shirley (Perrow) Tarvas, 75, from White Pine, Michigan, and the retirement residence of Mesa, Arizona, joined our Lord on the afternoon of October 30, 2019, after experiencing a sudden illness. She was treated at both the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine was born to William and Cecil Perrow on August 16, 1944 in Baraga, Michigan. She was the youngest of six children and grew up in the Alston area. She went to Laird School through 10th grade and graduated from Baraga High School in 1962. Lorraine moved to Milwaukee to work after graduating from high school for a short period of time. She then met and married the love of her life, Larry Tarvas, on December 1st, 1962, and they were blessed with over 57 years together. They settled in White Pine, Michigan, and raised three children; Bryan (Carissa) Tarvas, Clyde Tarvas, and Julie (Chris) Harris. Lorraine loved spending time with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones and spending time at casinos. She also loved to cheer for her favorite teams such as the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons and Green Bay Packers. Many will remember Lorraine from her work at the Red Owl grocery store and K&S Market for a number of years as well as the AmericInn in Silver City. In addition to being survived by her husband and children, she is survived by her two sisters Geraldine (Clyde) Golden, Darlene (Larry) Chouinard, and brother Keith (Carrole) Perrow. She is further survived by many grandchildren including Cody (Megan), Carli (Nathan), Amanda (John), Danny, Jeb, Brandon, Ashley (Kyle), Courtney, Harrison, Breanna, Mitchell, Matthew, Jessie, Jamie, Cameron, and Mike (Jackie), and seven great-grandchildren, Max, Makenna, Walker, Liam, Jayden, Brooke, Ben and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Cecil, and two brothers, Robert Perrow and Franklin (Lorraine “Penny”) Perrow. To honor Lorraine and her kind, caring, and social nature, there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony at a later date in the Spring of 2020. Cane Funeral Home will assist the family with arrangements and future notices will be provided regarding the service. In lieu of flowers, the Tarvas family is requesting a charitable donation in Lorraine’s name to the Ontonagon County Cancer Society at 320 Pennsylvania Ave., Ontonagon, MI 49953 or American Stroke Association at stroke.org.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lorraine Shirley Perrow Tarvas August 16 1944 October 30 2019 (age 75).
