Charles Burton Howard, age 68, passed away November 5, 2019 at Vanderbilt. He was born in Lackey, Kentucky and was a resident of Rutherford County. He taught school in Hindman High School, Hindman, KY, Lebanon High School, and Blackman High School. Charles was an avid walking horse enthusiast. He started coming to Murfreesboro in 1970 and attended the International and the Celebration until his recent illness. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Georgia Turner Howard. He is survived by his brothers, Jerome Paul Howard, Ralph Gordon Howard, Earl Thomas Howard; sister, Suette Howard King; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved walking horse, Mercedes.. A memorial service will be set for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422.   1. Charles will always have a special place in the hearts of the Hinton and Weaver family. He was always there for our life events. I will never forget his chuckle, his food, and his stories and his love for animals. But most of all his love for his family. That is everything. Family. .

  2. Charles was my cousin whom I reconnected with after 50 or more years. He was such a happy person and well loved. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Go Rest High On That Mountain Charles. Love your cousin Glenna
