Tatum, SC Vester Watson, 89, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Chesterfield Convalescent Center in Cheraw after a lengthy illness. Born January 4, 1930 in Bennettsville, SC, he was a son of the late Henry and Hattie Caulder Watson. Mr. Watson was a retired self-employed logger and was a member of the Bennettsville Emmanuel Holiness Church. He enjoyed watching old western and playing softball in earlier years. He was the sponsor of Robeson Loggers. Mr. Vester is survived by his brother, Otis Watson of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Christopher Watson, Timothy Watson, Darrell Watson, Crystal Watson and Angela Sanders; great-grandchildren, Leggett Watson, Drake Watson, Savannah Watson, Darren Watson, A.J. Brown, Alana Driggers, Dorion Driggers and Daniel Driggers; daughter-In-law, Karen Peele of Kershaw; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; wife, Juanita Skipper Watson; daughter, Evon Watson; sons; Wayne and Glenn Watson; sisters, Hattie Mae Quick, Myrtle Smith, Virginia Cook, Kersey Selph, Bea Barber, Ethel Hall and Dorothy Sessoms. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Bennettsville. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville.
