EDDINGTON- Thomas “Tom” Victor Dow, 70, passed away from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident on October 22, 2019 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born November 1, 1948 in Waterville, Maine the son of Victor Thomas and Clara Lillian (Ireland) Dow Tom was raised in Clinton and attended Clinton High School. He graduated in 1966, the last graduating class. He went on to graduate from New Brunswick Bible Institute in 1972. He spent over 20 years in the ministry and love to tell people about his Savior Jesus Christ. He retired from sales at Time Warner Cable. He spent the last few years at Safe Place Self Storage as “a retirement job” where he and his dog, Skipper “held down the fort”- “where maybe he caught up on some rest”. Tom loved the outdoors. His favorite place to be was in the woods with anyone he could convince to go with him. He also had a great love for southern gospel music. He planned several road trips with his wife that would center around these concerts. Tom had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh – especially when it was sometimes at someone else’s expense. Tom was full of life and he loved bright colors. The family requests that people wear bright colors to his Celebration of Life. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sisters, Charlotte Lyons and her husband, William Lyons, Helen Bailey and her husband, Robert Bailey; brother-in-law, Fred White; best friend, Stephen Weymouth; nephew, James Lyons; special uncle, Charles Dow; granddaughter, Josette Irene Lewis. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Stephanie Joy Dow; daughter, Amy J. Dow; sons, Thomas O. Dow and his wife, Kimberly, Walter O. Dow and his wife, Kelly and their children, Landon and Aubree; step-sons, Christopher M. Lewis and his wife, Jessica and their children, Breanna and Abigail, Gregory S. Lewis, Isaac K. Lewis and his wife, Caitlin and their son, Owen, Jonathan K. Lewis and his wife, Stephanie; sisters, Linda White, Janet Dixon and her husband, David Dixon, mother- in-law, Winona Swearingen; sisters-in-law, Kimberly Robbins and Constance Stanley; many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and beloved dog, Skipper. The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center Trauma Intensive Care Unit for their untiring efforts on his behalf. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 6-8 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Messiah Baptist Church, 985 Union Street, Bangor. A celebration of life will he held 3 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Messiah Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Horton and Rev. Robert Dunlap, officiating. Interment will be 2 PM Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Greenlawn Rest Cemetery, Clinton. Those who wish to remember Tom in a special way may make gift in his memory to the Messiah Baptist Church, 985 Union Street, Bangor, Maine 04401.
