Obituary of Steven Taylor Elrod Steven Taylor Elrod, age 69, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 in Jackson Madison County General Hospital. His Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Lea and Simmons Funeral Home. Steven was born on August 13, 1950 in Haywood County. He loved the Lord, loved his family and loved life. His interests and hobbies included horses, golf, birds, trading and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Elrod of Brownsville, TN, three daughters Sabrina Benard (Joey) of Covington, TN, Rebecca Slaughter (Charles) of Brownsville, TN, Dana Lewis (Tony) of Wellford, S.C., son Jack Fry, Jr. (Jennifer) of Brownville, TN. two brothers Thomas Elrod (Donna Sue) of Somerville, TN, Donald Elrod (Barbara) of Koko, TN, and a sister Judy Chandler (Kenny) of Powell, TN. He also leaves a legacy of 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Elrod and Mary Frances Tinsley Elrod, one daughter Stephanie Travis, one son Tim Elrod (Hope), one brother Johnny Elrod, and one sister Patsy Sorrell (Tommy). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lea and Simmons Funeral Home toward funeral expenses.
