Shirley Joan Retherford, 84, of Anderson, passed away on October 11, 2019 at Bethany Pointe in Anderson. She was born on August 28, 1935 to John and Lucille Lane and was a lifelong resident of Anderson. Shirley retired from Owens Glass Factory in Lapel after working there for 23 years. She was a pianist at Linwood Church, enjoyed word searches and Jumble puzzles, Indianapolis Colts, Pacers, Fever, and her daily trip to Ponderosa. Shirley is survived by her loving spouse Richard Retherford, daughters, Karen (Sherry) Murphy and Kathy (Scott) Retherford, step-sons, Richard Scott (Kathy) Retherford, and Barry Retherford, grandchildren, Brittiany Luttrell, Amanda (Jacob) King, Michael (Megan) Murphy, Sr., great-grandchildren, Madison (Bryce) Luttrell, R. Michael Murphy, Jr., and Abigail Murphy; and brother Donald Lane Family wishes to thank Kara with Kindred Hospice for her loving care of Shirley.
