Roy’s Obituary Roy A. Wickliffe, age 81 of Wilmer, Texas, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019. He was born in May of 1938 to the late Ira and Louise (Mohundro) Wickliffe in India, Texas. He worked for General Battery in Dallas for 26 years and later worked as an over the road Truck Driver for 13 years, seeing all 50 states along the way. His favorite song was “I’ve been everywhere” by Johnny Cash. He was passionate about politics, his family and his adoring grandchildren. He was good at making people laugh and always loved sitting down to play a game or two of dominoes or checkers or coaching the boys in baseball. In his travels, he always enjoyed visiting the casinos and playing games there as well. He could always be found cheering for the Dallas Cowboys or watching his favorite movie star, The Duke, John Wayne, as they shared birthdays. Roy will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded by his parents and daughter Margie Fae Finley. He is survived by his children: James A. and wife Janet Wickliffe of Lancaster, Tommy Lynn Wickliffe of Wilmer, Jimmy Reagor and Yolanda Mae; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Green Funeral Home. Service will be 11 AM Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Green Funeral Home.
