On October 18, 2019 God called Raymond Hampton Clark, Sr. home to rest while surrounded by friends and loved ones. He was born January 15, 1932 in Princeton, WV and was the son of the late Walter Lee and Georgia Perry Clark. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Elizabeth Howard Clark; two brothers, Clifton and Willie Clark, Sr.; and Willie’s wife, Clarie Lawson Clark; two sisters, Glaydine Clark Moore and her husband Paul Moore; Ola Lee Clark Phillips and her husband Percy; children, Raymond H. Clark, Jr and his wife Renee Clark; Vandora Lee Clark; son, Clinton A. Howard and his wife Brenda Howard; and son-in -law Lawrence Pickering, Sr. Survivors include his loving daughters, Elizabeth Clark Palmer and husband Reverend D.R. Palmer, Sr., Jacqueline Clark Hurt and husband Kenneth Hurt and Carolyn Pickering; one son, Robert Clark and wife Samantha; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Morris Clark of Denver, CO whom he called Groundhog; a host of nephews and nieces, cousins, and loving friends. Before retirement Raymond worked as an orderly at Princeton Memorial Hospital, Seaver Funeral Home, North American Rockwell in the Aerospace and Systems Group as an Electrical Technician. Raymond was member of Princeton Elks Club, Princeton Community Hospital Building Fund, The American National Red Cross, The International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers, and was the last original surviving founder of the Princeton Rescue Squad.  Raymond was an avid supporter of the Princeton Rays Baseball Team and attended every home game and was also a supporter of the Princeton Senior High School Tiger Football Team. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, cooking, working on cars, and was an animal lover. With his beautiful green eyes and his witty character, he loved to make people laugh and smile. Raymond was well loved and will be dearly missed, but not forgotten. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Raymond at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Bishop Dwight Palmer, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluefield.
