Fancella Sr., 87, of Homer City passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home with his caregivers, Johna, Suzanne, Lynn and Ruth. He was born in 1931 to John and Mary Frances (Mela) Fancella in Indiana. Pete was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church. Pete was a coal tipple operator until he retired from Helen Mining Company in 1993. He was an avid Steelers fan and also loved watching baseball. He enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, cooking and talking politics with his brothers. He is survived by one son, Peter Fancella, Seattle, WA; and one daughter, Karen Fancella, San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Loretta, brothers; Arthur, Dominic, John, Anthony, Joseph and one sister, Jennie Faggioni. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the Church of Good Shepherd, Kent, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Matthew Morelli the celebrant.
