Patrick’s Obituary Patrick, of Highland Township, loving brother, uncle and talented finish carpenter, passed away Thursday morning, October 31st, at Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor. He was 53, and had been hospitalized for several days battling cancer. Patrick was born to the late Joseph John and Helen Connie (Doyle) McSweeney on May 31, 1966, in Detroit. Surviving are five devoted siblings, Rita Kramer (and her children Jessica, Molly, Tyler and Annie), Maureen (John) Blair (and their children Morgan, Riley, Quinn, Gannon and Kennedy), Matthew McSweeney, Mary Cassar (and her children Conner, Irelyn, Jay and Payton), and Dan (Kelly) McSweeney (and their children Maura, Jack, Brendan and Liam). Sadly, in addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by a niece, Olivia Blair. The McSweeney family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, November 2nd, from 5-8 pm, and Sunday, November 3rd, from 2-8 pm. A time of prayer and remembrances is planned for Sunday evening at 7 pm. Patrick’s funeral mass will be celebrated Monday morning, November 4th, at 10:00 am (in state at 9:30 am) at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd., Farmington. Father Mark Brauer will preside. Patrick’s interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. In lieu of customary remembrances, those who wish to further honor Patrick’s life are invited to consider contributions to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Community.
