Norma J. Barber June 17, 1932 – October 31, 2019 Norma J. Barber, 87, Cape Fair, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 in Maranatha Village, Springfield. She was born June 17, 1932 in Fordland, Missouri, the daughter of the late Dennis and Alma (Ewing) Burks. She was united in marriage on June 29, 1996 to Dennis L. Barber. Norma was a 1950 graduate of Fordland High School. She was a nursing assistant before retiring from Mercy Hospitals. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, cooking, and being with her family, especially her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; two sons, Kenny Higdon and his wife Colleen; and Donald Higdon and his wife Mary Ellen; a brother, W.L. Burks and his wife Debbie; her sister-in-law, Pat Burks; five grandchildren, Tammy Wade and Scott Myers, Rodney Higdon, Paul Higdon and his wife Angie, Paige Byrd and her husband Jason, and Emalee Higdon; five great-grandchildren, Devyn, Kinley, Karson, Langley, and Thomas, and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2019 in Green Hill Cemetery, Fordland under direction of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. No visitation is planned. Memorial donations may be made to Green Hill Cemetery, c/o Seymour Bank, 101 Dempsey, Rogersville, MO 65742.
