Mary Dee Williams January 16, 1931 – October 1, 2019 Funeral services for Mary Dee Williams will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 2:00 p.m at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Tracy Sims will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Post Oak Cemetery near Donie. Visitation will be held on Saturday with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m at the funeral home. Mrs. Williams passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at the Groesbeck LTC. She was born in Freestone on January 16, 1931, to Charlie and Tommie Cobbs. Mary Dee married Billy Joe Williams in 1952 and shared over fifty-four years of marriage together before being separated by his death on August 21, 2006. She lived in Waco for many years while her husband worked for General Tire and returned to Donie when he retired in the mid-1980’s. Mrs. Williams was a dedicated homemaker most of her life, but did work outside the home some including working at the Groesbeck LTC when her mother was a resident. She enjoyed visiting with people, cooking, and growing and canning vegetables from her garden. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church in Waco for some thirty-years and later attended the Donie Methodist Church until it closed. She is survived by two sons, Joe Williams & wife Robyn of Valley Mills and Jerry Williams of Donie; seven grandchildren, Jake Williams & wife Lindsey, Tye Williams, Whitney Sisk & husband Johnathan, Haylee Williams, Shelby Williams, Holley Williams, and Dustin Williams; four great-grandchildren; one brother, David Cobbs of Groesbeck; three sisters, Charlcy Dunlap of Axtell, Sue Sims Redding of Groesbeck, and Tommie Sims of Shiloh; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Williams. The family requests memorials be made to the Groesbeck LTC Activity Fund, 607 Parkside Dr., Groesbeck, TX 76642.
