Marie Josephine Lundin September 14, 1923 – October 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Marie Josephine Lundin, 96, of McKeesport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born September 14, 1923 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Hillman O’Gurkis. She was the wife of the late Herbert Leonard Lundin for 54 years until his passing in 2004. Marie graduated from St Peter’s High School and Douglas Business School. She worked in the administrative offices of US Steel until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the former St Peter’s Church and later a member of St Patrick’s church in McKeesport. Marie loved to cook and bake for her family and made holidays so special. She loved to travel and go on cruises. She enjoyed going to the family cottage in Bedford, PA. Marie was very artistic and an accomplished painter in oils and water colors. She enjoyed teaching her granddaughter Erika her painting techniques and also shared her baking secrets with her. She had an amazing sense of humor and a special love for animals. Her grandchildren were very special to her. Marie is survived by daughter Karla Lundin, granddaughter Erika Lundin and grandson Stephen Quirk of McKeesport. Son Gregg Lundin (the late Pamela) and grandchildren Hannah, Christine and Mark of Fawn Township. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sisters Ahne O’Gurkis, Mildred Conway and Helen Sirak and brothers Stanley and Edmund O’Gurkis. There is no visitation.
