Laurel “Laurie”‘s Obituary Laurel “Laurie” Ann Leibbrandt age 66 of Danbury, Nebraska passed away surrounded by family at her home. She was born in McCook, Nebraska on March 24, 1953 to Virgil and Opal (Trainer) Schilz. Laurie attended and graduated from McCook High School in 1971. On February 24, 1972 she was united in marriage to LaVern D Leibbrandt in McCook at the Methodist Church. The couple made their home on a farm near Danbury. Laurie worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and most recently for Southwest Feeders, for the last 13 years, prior to retirement in February of 2019. Laurie was a huge Denver Bronco fan and attended the Super Bowl in San Diego California. She had many chances to sell her tickets for a big profit but declined so she could root her team to victory. She also loved the Cornhuskers. Laurie was an avid turkey hunter, enjoying many outings as well as hunting deer with her son and husband. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Laurie is survived by her Husband: LaVern of Danbury; Daughter: Stacy of Danbury; Son: Tracy and partner Chasity Pahach of Clancy, Montana; Brother: Mike and wife Lenora Schilz of Bristol, Virginia; Niece: Jael and husband Warren Jones of Kingsport, Tennessee; Nephew Justin and Katie Schilz of Puyallup, Washington. In keeping with Laurie’s wishes she chose cremation. A memorial service will be held at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 10:30 AM with Terry McCorkle. A private family inurnment will take place at a future date. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
