Jonathan Pierpont Sickler; Boots, formerly of Garrison Rd, Upper Pittsgrove Twp., NJ passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Merion Gardens Assisted Living, Carney Point, NJ. Born in Alloway, NJ Boots was the son of the late John Walter and Blanche Jarmen Sickler. Boots was predeceased by his wife, Helen (nee Link), son Jerry, brothers George, William (Bill) John (Junie) and Sisters Leona Crouse and Barbara Harrell. Boots is survived by his sister Mabel and husband Wilson Hannold of Elmer, NJ; Sister in-Law Edna Hackett of FL, daughters Brenda Burns of Medford NJ, Helen and husband Stephen Stahl of Surry Va. Daughter in-law Jan Rothman Sickler of Phoenix, Az. Also Left to cherish his memory are grandchildren Kelly, husband John Tsigounis, Jenna, husband Ross Taylor, Meghan Burns all of NJ. Shelby Sickler, NYC and Jason Sickler of Phoenix, AZ. His Great Grandchildren, Skye, Micah Taylor & Kole Black. Boots also had made a special friend, who loved him dearly. There are numerous nieces, nephews also. Boots was a veteran of WWII Servicing in the US Army as a Sergeant/Instructor of Tank Engines. He married his wife Helen in 1949 and started a family. Boots worked with Dave Sickler Enterprises, Seabrook Farms, IE DuPont Co. and FC Adams Ford Lincoln Mercury, where he was the Service Manager. His life as a son, brother, husband (63 years) father, brother-in law, uncle, father in-law, grandfather and friend, fulfilled him. He raced motorcycles with Volkmar Brothers Racing, was a billiards shark, tennis and ping pong pro, and he and his wife Helen, bicycled all over South Jersey and canoed most of its rivers. Boots supported Daretown Boy Scout Troop 60, bowled for FC Adams and was an avid gardener. Brenda and Helen wish to share the gratitude and appreciation of all the staff at Merion Gardens for their genuine concern and care of Boots his last 5 years. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Elmer, NJ. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local American Cancer Society.
