“Jackie”‘s Obituary Jacklin “Jackie” Marie Butler, age 63, of Eureka, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at the home on Thursday, October 10th, 2019. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 15h, 1956 to Patsy (West) and Jack Long, Jackie lived her early life in the Kansas City area graduating from Raytown High School in 1974, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Jackie attended Central Missouri State University where she was an active member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She completed her Bachelors Degree, graduating with honors, in 1978. Jackie started her professional career with Southwestern Bell in the Kansas City area and later relocated to the St. Louis area where she would live and complete her career at ATT, retiring as a quality manager in 2011. After retiring, Jackie enjoyed traveling to sunny vacation destinations with ocean views and sandy beaches and she was never too far from the pool. She was a loving, devouted mom to her canine “kids”: Kacey, Alexa, Max, Sadie, and Blanca, all of which brought great joy to her life. She actively supported area animal rescue, relocation, and adoption organizations in the Midwest to help place animals in new “forever” homes. Jackie is survived by a brother, Doug Long and wife Jeri, Chillicothe, Missouri, aunt and uncle, Vicki and James Palmer, Macon, Missouri, and several cousins. She is proceeded in death by her parents and grandparents. Services: A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, November 9th at the Loft, Les Bourgeois Vineyard, Rocheport, Missouri. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family suggests making donations to a local animal shelter, animal rescue group, or adopting a shelter animal in Jackie’s honor.
