Garland “Jeep” Mills June 21, 1939 – October 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Memorial services for Garland Brent “Jeep” Mills, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 at Parkview Baptist Church with Jackie Blum and Don McFarland officiating. He passed away Friday, October 11, 2019. He was born June 21, 1939 in Morton, Texas to Alpheus Mills and Mamie Arnold. Jeep will be missed terribly by his family and friends. He was a charming, sweet soul with the best laugh and knack for telling funny stories. Songs just sounded better when Jeep sang them while playing his guitar. His baby blue eyes could spot an arrowhead from a mile away and we aren’t real sure why he even bothered with a metal detector because he had a sixth sense for finding “treasures.” He spent a lot of his time casting a line in the water to reel in his next big one. He would fish anywhere that had water but his favorite fishing holes were found in the mountains and on the Brazos River at Eliasville. He loved the mountains almost as much as he loved his family. He will forever be adored and remembered by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Sue Ripy and husband, Rip, and Sally Heckathorn and husband, Wayne; a brother, Neal Mills and special nephew Rocky Ripy. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Mills, of Breckenridge, TX; a son, Cary Mills, of Hollis, OK.; a son, Kevin Mills, and wife, LaGena of Hollis, OK.; a daughter, Kaci Mills ton and husband, Dustin, of Memphis; a son, Jeremiah Mills and wife, Caitlin, of Grand Bay, AL.; grandchildren, Cathan Mills, Meghan Mills, Kreede Mills, Katelyn Mills, Kadyn Mills, Josiah Mills, Zellah Mills, Connor ton, Kayleigh Frank, Chelsey Cobb, Jacob Elmore, and Matthew Elmore; great grandchildren, Kendra Mills, Marley Mills and Kenleigh Cummings and special nieces and nephew Keli Murdock, Mike Heckathorn and Cathy Brundige. Memorials may be made to Childress Meals on Wheels or the Alzheimer’s Association.
