Jaramillo “Tiger”, was born October 4, 1931 in Carnuel, New Mexico. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. Eloy proudly and Honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an active and involved member of Holy Child Mission Church in Carnuel and was the owner of the San Miguel Statue in the Church, which is celebrated annually during the Church Fiestas. Eloy was very involved in the Carnuel Land Grant; established the Acequia Association and development, and he was always fighting for the rights and affairs of his treasured communities, Carnuel and Tijeras, and was even voted citizen of the year. He worked for and retired from The Art Center, as a Picture Framer after 40 years and also worked for Molly’s Bar for over 25 years. Eloy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ernestina Griego Jaramillo; by his two sons, Robert Jaramillo and Leon Jaramillo; his granddaughter, Darlene Herrera Jones; his parents, Miguel and Margarita Jaramillo; sisters, Isabel Garcia, Susie Higgs, Ella Calhoun and by his brother, Christino Jaramillo. He is survived by his loving children, Diana Herrera and husband Marcelino of Carnuel, Karl Jaramillo of Carnuel, Stacy Jaramillo of Santa Fe, Steven Jaramillo of Carnuel, Michelle Jaramillo and fiance Robbie Gonzales of Albuquerque, Kenneth Jaramillo and fiancé Elaine Chavez of Carnuel; sisters, Ferminia Gonzales of Albuquerque, Martha Alexander and husband Earl of California, Audora Agger and husband Gary of Oklahoma, Amalia Saiz of Carnuel and Corina Flint of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Karl Jr., Marc, Nathan, Tandy, Monique, Brandy, Mathew and Jason; 19 great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and precious friends who loved and will miss him greatly. Services will be held at Holy Child Mission Church in Carnuel, New Mexico, on Saturday, November 9, 2019. A visitation will begin at 9:00 am. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am, with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 am. The interment will follow in the Holy Child Mission Cemetery in Carnuel, where Eloy will be buried next to his beloved wife. Pallbearers will be his treasured family and friends.
