Obituary of Craig Field Ash Craig Field Ash June 5, 1935 – October 11, 2019 On October 11, 2019, Craig Field Ash, Beloved Husband of the late Jane E. Ash (nee Aemisegger); Devoted Father of Lois Ash and husband Frank, Eleanor Lofft and husband Andrew, and Hugh Ash and partner Beth; Loving Grandfather of Griffin and Cooper Lofft. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Rails to Trails Conservancy. Family and friends are invited to call at Glynn Funeral Home, 20 Lincoln Ave, Rockville Centre, NY 11570 from 6pm to 8pm. Craig taught English for over 35 years, at Carnegie Tech, St. John’s University and for the majority of his career at Adelphi University. He loved literature and could often be found reading books, magazines, or newspapers. He had a passion for music, playing piano and organ for almost his entire life, first at East End Baptist Church in Brooklyn, then First Baptist Church of Freeport. Even after he moved to Maryland, he continued playing organ at his senior living community. Craig was very active in church, as an organist, choir member, teacher, and deacon. Craig was an avid railroad enthusiast. He enjoyed building model railroads and visiting any location that had a steam engine, subway car, or trolley. Craig enjoyed traveling near and far but his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandsons. He was a very generous person who always helped out those in need.
