Claire L. Griffin, 77, of Crete, passed away Wednesday October 23, 2019 at St James Hospital in Olympia Fields. She was born December 5, 1941 in Chicago Heights, IL the daughter of Carl William and Betty Schroeter Braun. Claire is survived by her daughter Renee Thornton of Crete, IL, a sister Tammy Braun of Crete, IL, 4 brothers; Charles & Dorothy Braun of Kansas City, MO, Richard & Judy Braun of Jefferson, WI, Lyle & Sue Braun of Demotte, IN, and Kenny & Holly Braun of Crete, IL, her grandchildren Tiffany Watt and Frederick Meyer, and her great grandchildren Hannah, Freddy, Brenna, Lucas, Edan, and Matthew Meyer. She is proceeded in death by her parents. Claire worked for Aetna Data Processing. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, baking cakes, and helping raise her grandkids. Visitation will be Monday October 28, 2019 from 10am until the funeral service at 11am at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Beecher. Pastor Cory Estby will officiate. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Crete, IL. Memorials may be made to St Paul Lutheran Church in Beecher. Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher is handling the arrangements.
