Catherine “Frutty”‘s Obituary Ms. Catherine “Frutty” Carter, age 64, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at her home. She was born in Robeson County on September 29, 1955 to the late Wilton Carter and the late Alene Jones Carter. She was a teacher’s assistant for the Public Schools of Robeson County. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Wilton “Bo Bill” Carter. She is survived by two daughters, Crystal Jacobs of the home and Johna Edmonds of Destin, FL; four brothers: Weldon Joe Carter of Lumberton, NC, Leo Pete Carter (Wanda Sue) of Red Springs, NC, and Tommy Carter and Randy Carter, both of Lumberton, NC; two special cousins, Gilford Locklear and Ricky Locklear, both of Lumberton, NC; four sisters: Shirley Tyner and Gearlene “Jerri” Carter of Lumberton, NC, Merlene “Bubbie” Seals of Fayetteville, NC, and Faye Carter of Lumberton, NC; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and a special dog, Grace. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM at the chapel with Pastor Jeff Blackburn and Rev. Gary Locklear officiating.
