Anna’s Obituary Anna Rose Hunt, born to Joseph Henry Hunt and Anna Josephine Miller Hunt on November 1, 1927, in Tablerock, Nebraska, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2019. Ann graduated from Dalhart High School in 1943 and shortly thereafter enrolled in nursing school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon graduating from nursing school, Ann joined the Air Force and was stationed in Châteauroux, France. She worked in orthopedics and obstetrics while overseas, truly enjoying obstetrics, while helping to deliver over 1000 babies while in the service. She later spent several weeks doing volunteer nursing in British Honduras and then continued her service to others upon returning home from Europe working as a head orthopedic nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver, Colorado for many years. It was in France that Ann developed her passion for travel, exploring Europe extensively while serving her country in the Air Force. Ann traveled to every continent on the globe, including making a trip to Antarctica on an ice-breaker ship while in her mid-80’s. Some of her more memorable trips included two separate tours of the Holy Land and visiting the Galapagos Islands. She shared her memorable trips with family and friends by way of souvenirs and sharing delicious food. She loved to host a dinner party and was an accomplished chef. Ann will be remembered most for her generous heart, her adventurous spirit, and her witty remarks. Ann wanted everyone to “have a drink, toast her, do good, and take care of each other”. She is rejoicing in heaven with many family members that were there to meet her: her parents, Joseph Henry Hunt and Anna Josephine Hunt; her brothers, Joseph Henry Hunt, Jr. and Albert Louis Hunt; her sister, Theresa Maxine Hein; and her nephews, Andy & Marty Long. She is survived by her sister Loretto Long of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her nephew, Ron Hein and family of Dalhart; 28 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She lived a happy life here on earth beating many a friend in a robust card game of Bridge, if you were brave enough to sit at a table with her. May we all remember to share a kind word, a hug, to watch a bird today, cherish family, and love the Lord. Read More
