Toomey, 91, of Springfield passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Neary) Mahoney. She lived in Springfield her entire life, attended Bay Path College and worked at the Springfield Armory before raising her family. She is predeceased by her husband John J. Toomey Jr. Ann leaves her six children; Joanne Spigarelli and her husband Philip, Margaret Toomey, Paul Toomey, Mary Christy and her husband Scott, Brian Toomey and his wife Susan and Jeffery Toomey and his wife Jana. She also leaves four grandchildren; Alyssa, Alexa, Nathan and Lucy. A calling hour will be held Friday, November 1, 2019, from 10:30 to 11:30am at Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield, followed by a funeral home service at 11:30am. Burial will be private and held at a later date at St. Michaels Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff from Baystate Hospice and Silver Linings Home Care. A special thank you to caregivers Julie A. and Julie M. for the wonderful care and love they provided Ann.
