Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. Funeral service will Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Oakes and Bro. Jammie Turner officiating. Mrs. Smith was born September 22, 1948 in Luf Kin, TX to the late Merrell Meredith and Rosa Lee Chavers. She married her husband Mason Smith on March 15, 1991 in Eustace, TX. Mrs. Smith was a member of Gun Barrel First Assembly of God in Gun Barrell, TX before moving to Columbus, MS where then she attended 1st Assembly in Sulligent and Asbury Community Church. She retired from being a preschool teacher. She was a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Haley and husband of 21 years- Mason Smith; sons- Jimmy Haley, and Kevin Haley; granddaughters- Afton Bragg, and Shellie Haley. Mrs. Smith is survived by children- Candice (Cliff) Bragg, and Chester Maxey; brother- Vester Meredith; grandchildren- Brittney Haley Biller, Laura Haley Curtis, Ricky Haley, Mariah Haley Villines, Grant Haley, Griffin Haley, Cage Bragg, Kristina Maxey, Rickey Maxey, and Emery Maxey; great-grandchildren- Maddix Curtis, Conner Biller, William Curtis, and Sadie Biller. Pallbearers will be Cage Bragg, Cliff Bragg, Chester Maxey, Jeff Bullock, J.T. Bullock, Robbie Jacobs, Robert Jacobs, and Mike Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Vester Meredith, and Braxton Irwin.
