On September 1, 2019 at 1:35 PM Robin Marchelle Taylor Townsend departed this life and joined her mother and Aunt Ethel Lou in heaven. Robin was born to the late Noah “Bub” Harmon and Madge Lettie Taylor on April 22, 1962. She was raised in Atlantic, Virginia and received her education in the Accomack County Public School System. In 1980, Robin graduated from Arcadia High School. She later furthered her education at Woodbridge Technical School and Wor-Wic Community College. On June 10, 1987 Robin wed her childhood sweetheart, Floyd “Ricky” Townsend and together they shared five children. One thing no one ever had to guess about was her love for Ricky; she made it known WHENEVER the opportunity presented itself. Robin honored being a mother, a grandmother, and simply spending time with her family. She went above and beyond for her children and grandchildren, even if it meant staying up until the wee hours of the morning just to cook or offer some encouraging words. Along with her love for her family, Robin fell deeply in love with Jesus. She was a member of Saint John’s United Methodist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Gary Miller, for many years before she became a member of Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle, led by Overseer Katheleen Moore, in Pocomoke City, Maryland. In 2005, when Overseer Kathleen Moore sent her first Minister/Pastor out to minister, Robin accompanied her. She became a member of Kingdom Builder’s Outreach Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Emma Fisher for the last thirteen years of her life. She loved to praise the Lord and she often led praise and worship service. She would tell anyone who would listen about God’s goodness and what He meant to her. Robin can be remembered as a godly, loving, supportive, kind, and forgiving person; her humbleness was as much a part of her as breathing. She always coupled God with her duties as a wife and mother. Her inner need and desire to make sure that she satisfied the needs of others made her the mortar for her husband, children, and her siblings. She was preceded in death by her mother, Madge Taylor; her father, Noah “Bub” Harmon; and one grandmother, Georgie Mae Dickerson. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Floyd “Ricky” Townsend; five children, Lakeshia Townsend of Pocomoke City, MD, Chacarra Townsend of Horntown, VA, Kurtis Blake (Dore) of San Antonia, TX, Chante’ Townsend of Horntown, VA, and Floyd Michael Townsend, Jr. of Horntown, VA; nine grandchildren, with the first being, Tierra Marchelle Townsend, whom she helped raise; five brothers, Mark Taylor of Philadelphia, PA, Leonard “Stove Pipe” Taylor (Erica) of Pocomoke City, MD, John (Kenny) Taylor of Atlantic, VA, George Michael Taylor (Martiel) of Greenbackville, VA, and Paul Brown (Jackie) of Withams, VA; one sister, Alice Brown of Nelsonia, VA; three sisters-in-law, Shirley “Baby Doll” Townsend of Horntown, VA, Ruth “Connie” Townsend of New Castle, DE, and Grenda Hudson (Reggie) of Upper Marlboro, MD; two brothers-in-law, William Townsend (Debbie) of Greenbackville, VA and Henrick “David” Townsend (Lisa) of Princess Anne, MD; two godsisters, Ellen Bowser and Jennifer Corbin; two godsons, David Fisher and Jakava Wallop; and a very special young lady that she always held dear to her heart, Roshell “Tipsey” Brown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
